Tartie
They're Not You
Emerging indie singer-songwriter Tartie is thrilled to announce the release of her new single, “They’re Not You,” a poignant ballad that delves into the complexities of love, loss, and hope. The track drops on all major streaming platforms on Friday 18th October 2024.
“They’re Not You” showcases Tartie’s signature lyrical prowess and emotive vocals, drawing listeners into a reflective journey that details the experience of missing someone special, (“and I keep wondering what I should do, ‘cause no one sitting in this room is you.”) In the song Tartie sings about tightly held dreams (“gripping onto dreams for way too long”) and drifting through life (“Why do I feel like a passenger in my own life?”) whilst also mourning a future of what could have been (“they don’t know all the things we could be.”)
“I wanted to express the feeling of missing someone and the loneliness one can feel despite being in a crowded room. I hope it resonates with anyone who has ever felt the weight of missing someone special” Tartie shares.
The song was produced by Caleb J Murphy using Spotify’s Soundbetter platform, a music production marketplace that connects artists with music professionals. Cellist Bruno Serroni was responsible for the lush cello lines on the track. Tartie was a big fan of Caleb’s work as a singer-songwriter and reached out to him via the platform with her demo. It turns out the admiration was mutual as Caleb recounts “Tartie is a very talented singer and songwriter and we ended up creating a really cool Maggie Rogers style track.”
