Song for a Gorgeous Blonde
dold kappa
jazztronica / prog / downtempo / electronica / rock / experimental
For this track the group takes an old demo written by Dino DiMuro (me) and contorts it to fit their signature sound, after which Dino mixes the track and tries to put some of his quirkier touches back in. Is the resulting whole greater than the sum of its parts? Who knows?
The music was composed on the keyboard starting with a standup bass sound, then changing to a harp setting about halfway through. What I always liked about this track is that there's a section toward the end that recalls the Steely Dan riff from 'Rikki Don't Lose That Number'.
