Following the release of "Blue Nile," we're excited to share a one-take performance of Wayne Shorter’s classic "Footprints," which I first heard on the seminal album *Miles Smiles*. We put this track together in under an hour, from concept to recording, with everyone contributing their ideas. The form changes for each solo—during the guitar solo, we played around with some subtle time signature shifts to 3/4 to 4/4 in order to bring out a Delta blues vibe, and for the sax solo, we used a constantly modulating chord progression.
