Iran Sanadzadeh
Two Sequences

Two sequences is Iran Sanadzadeh’s latest release of music, combining sounds from found percussion, flat digital musical instruments, and feedback induced in the room. This work uses improvisation as the basis for rhythmic modules, creating the final form of each track from the improvised outlines of the original recording. Two sequences is made up on interconnected pieces, produced by layering performance of the original improvised forms through the Floors, the Table Floors and creating room feedback. The layering process in Ferns and Boids is one of finding new worlds of possibility from the interaction of instruments and interfaces, each bringing their own sonic outcomes, even when playing with the same physical sound makers.

This work is the first of Iran’s output that plays with rhythm across different patterns, felt and sounded, inextricably linked with the affordances and responses of these novel instruments; produced in collaboration with Theo Carbo, Ferns and Boids are two sequences of tracks that draw delight in each track from both the world and its magical ability to make us feel with sound, and the inner action that leads us to imagine how to talk with the materials and spaces of sound anew again and again.
