Around June of this year it hit me that 2024 was the 25th anniversary of Component. I had initially put together Component as a vehicle to put out my own project Codec. Along with the artist direction and guidance of Josh Garrett(Xyn), and after the Integral Components compilation the label rapidly turned into something far greater. As Codec’s ‘Fragments’ was the first release on the label, I felt that it was only fitting and time that I make its spiritual successor. I found myself quickly fitting into the drum & bass headspace and charted a course for what Codec would sound like in 2024. It’s harder , grittier, & darker and while melody takes backseat captures the moodiness and space of earlier Codec. I present to you Anomaly.
