AnalogueTrash: Label Sampler Vol. 8

It’s been a busy year for the AnalogueTrash record label, with a series of singles and albums dropping almost every month and members of the label’s family treading the boards in the UK, Europe, North America, and beyond. When we started our little local label in a box room in Rusholme in Manchester, we never imagined that it would achieve such a high international profile.

Which brings us to the latest iteration of our label sampler series: AnalogueTrash: Label Sampler Vol. 8. The first edition was a mere eight—rather perfect in our opinion—songs. We’re allowed to feel a bit pleased with ourselves that many of those bands are still working with us, ten years down the line.

2024 sees a total of twenty-seven tracks make the cut, coming in at just under two hours of playing time. With exciting new music from Le Fomo, a stunning remix collaboration between The Frixion and Circuit3, and a sneak peek into a new project for Spray, the compilation gets off to a strong electropop start.

Showcasing the diversity of the roster, we dig into the vaults to unearth an ATOMZERO remix, while Circuit3’s own contribution sates the desire for those who need more Chic-like strings and guitars in their lives.

A live recording from Debris Discs sits wonderfully next to new tracks from PreCog and This Bliss, as well as deep cuts from NEONSOL and Kat Bryan. Meanwhile, label veterans and electronic maestros Vieon celebrate the tenth anniversary of their label debut by teaming up with Parisian alternative outfit Monitors.

Bjørn Felle takes us on a trip into a world of military experiments and tripped-out beats. VATSWAV treats us to an exclusive mix of a recent favourite; Flange Circus bring us some of their excellent hauntronica with a darker twist; and local—to us at least—act and recent signing Lines of Silence get their motorik and dub groove on.

Folky Italian songstress Sandi Glowe teams up with electronic pop trio PreCog on a remix that shows the strengths of both acts. Murderers treats us to another dark synthwave classic, and industrial music veterans DeathBoy show us what they do best: brooding electronica with an industrial breakbeat core that teases their long-awaited new album.

With a highlight from The Royal Ritual’s recent post-industrial album and some electronic post-punk from Factory Acts, those who like their music painted in darker hues will not be disappointed.

The pace picks up with Monitors, DEF NEON, and Zeropolis bringing the energy, while cinematic post-punk from our most recent signing, Be Kind Cadaver, lo-fi indie pop from The Cowls, and some raucous garage rock from Birdman Cult all serve to show yet more facets of our roster’s creativity. Local indie rock outfit, Friends of Our Youth, round off what is probably our best sampler to date.

With each year, our musical family raises the bar ever higher, not just on the sampler but with every single release. We’re proud to be a part of that and look forward to another year of creativity, community, and great music in 2025.
