How long have you been writing music?

I have been writing music for nine years, with some breaks in between.

What inspired you to start playing and making music?

I'm making music I like listening to but can't find elsewhere.

How would you describe your style of music?

My style is a weird amalgamation of synthwave, space rock, industrial and doom metal. I have difficulty deciding where to stick my music when it comes to a single genre or scene.

How is your personality reflected in your work?

That's an interesting question. My music invokes contradicting emotions and feelings of curiosity, melancholia, and power in people that listen to it. I suppose those are some of the feelings that pass through me regularly and form the foundation of my personality.

Describe your creative process when you write new music.

I produce everything on hardware and I only look at a computer screen once I get to the point of mixing. These days I usually start with a riff on the guitar or a weird sound on one of my synths. Once I have something tangible going on, I'll complement it with appropriate rhythm, harmonies, and whatever else is needed to get THE CRUNCH. I usually have more ideas brewing than I can fit into a single song, so by the time I finish it, a couple of hooks have been fermenting and are ready to go in the new song!

Eye of the Wild EP

What was the inspiration for that release?

I had this vision of a post-civilization world where humans no longer felt like custodians of the planet. How would we act in that scenario? What would we feel when interacting with forces beyond our grasp?

What are you currently working on?

I'm halfway through finishing my first full-length album which will take the concept I've laid down in my Eye of the Wild EP deeper and further. The response to my last EP was very positive, so I'm looking forward to hearing what people think of the album when it rears its weird head at the end of the year!
