Virgin Birth is an industrial synth-punk duo conceived by Phillip Olympia and Jake Miller based in Louisville, Kentucky. Both musicians bring deep roots in punk and indie rock, having played in various bands over the years. Their shared appreciations for the industrial scene of the '80s and '90s sparked numerous conversations, which eventually led them to aggressively experiment with drum machines and synthesizers. After recording a series of demos, it became clear this was a project they both wanted to fully pursue—giving rise to Virgin Birth.
