Corset Lore

An artist defined by constant motion in process and practice, Asian-American composer/musician Tamara Yadao considers herself a visual thinker first and foremost. This approach has informed the whole of Yadao’s work, which incorporates free improvisation, performance art, repurposed objects/toys and processed instruments. She is active in several NYC-based music circles with experimental ensembles, rahrahree! and Frogwell, as well as the chiptune-adjacent music under the moniker, Corset Lore.

Additionally, she is the recipient of grants and awards from the American Composer’s Forum , New York State Council of the Arts grant and the Asian Cultural Council.
